Allicin is a substance in garlic with many health benefits. Allicin encourages healthy lipid metabolism by acting on fatty acids and increasing fibrinolytic activity. Allicin promotes healthy circulation and blood flow, and also acts as an antioxidant for blood vessel membranes, helping protect them from free radicals and remain flexible for good arterial health. In addition, allicin has potent antimicrobial effects.
