Adrenal Fatigue
Adrenal fatigue, known as tired adrenal glands, happens when the adrenal glands cut down hormone production after long-term severe stress or trauma. This mainly affects cortisol and DHEA levels. Initially, the adrenal glands boost cortisol and DHEA production in response to stress. Research shows that prolonged stress leads to a decrease in DHEA.
